There was a big entry for my first Grade 5 event held at Rawdon Tennis Club in Leeds. It was a great day with the final matches being completed under floodlights. The winner was 4th seed Adam Hamilton who beat third seed Martin Beecroft in the final after coming through a tough field.

Adam won a see saw final 4-2 1-4 (10-6). Earlier in the day he beat the powerful Oliver Hicks gaining revenge for his Yorkshire Championships 3 set defeat. He also beat top seed Richard Speed 4-2 4-2 and in the semi for the first time in several meetings beat 2nd seed Arun Bahia 4-3 4-1

In the consolation Jack Wills won the event for the loss of just 5 games.
