David Lloyd Grade 6 14 October

In the men’s final Joshua Crossley beat Irfan Ulhaq to take the honours. However, he nearly went out in the first round to Rob Brown only winning 10-8 in the fast4 tiebreak.

In the 16 and under boys final Jack Willis beat Kieron Hinds 10-6 in the decider.

12 year old Oliver Critchley stunned the older lads in the 18 and under event to come through and win the final 4-2 4-2 against Jack Hanson.

In the 18 and under girls final top seed Maisie Smith beat Olivia Smith (no relation) 0-4 4-3(1) 10-3 in a match full of long rallies

Thorner Grade 5 13 October

Oliver Hicks triumphed over James Campian in the final on a blustery evening after earlier beating top seed Martin Beecroft 4-3 4-1 & Jude Dixon in an epic encounter 4-0 2-4 (10-8)

Chapel Allerton Grade 5 8 October

Another great event at Chapel Allerton with 16 men and 14 14 and under entrants as well as a women’s event. The weather was great for the whole day with final matches being played under floodlights.

Pocklington Grade 5 7 October

This was the second visit to Pocklington and we will hope to be back it gives those to the east of Leeds a venue nearer to home.

In the 16 and under final Jack Wills from Rawdon won 4-1 4-1 against Max Tong from Nuffield Hull.

In the men’s final Thomas Linley from David Lloyd Harrogate won 4-3 (5-1) 4-1 against Jude Dixon from Malton. Jude had come back from a set down in his semi with 7.2 Scott Howard to win 10-6 in the fast4 match tiebreak in a nail biting encounter with lots of long rallies.

David Lloyd Leeds Grade 5 30 September

Another new and fantastic venue which we hope to use regularly. Those who enter the tournaments and parents of the children can also use the extensive facilities of the club including gym and indoor and outdoor pools a great bonus.

It was a busy day starting with the mini green 10 and under played in the bubble followed by the Mini orange and red on the indoor courts. There was a big turnout with 32 mini’s playing and a reserve list for all events. There were 16 entries for the men’s and 8 for the women’s fast4 events.

In the Mini Green event it was a very strong field with all players of Green 1 rating some representing Yorkshire for their age group. The winner was Louis Hull who powered through the group before coming through a tight semi final 4-3(5-1) v Zak Lloyd. In the final he beat his close friend James Wilson 4-2 to take the trophy.

In the Mini Reds Sebby Hawke beat Zuzanna Walon 10-8 in the final after the both came through their semi finals. They had already faced each other in the group with excatly the same score after they came 1st & 2nd in their group.

The third trophy of the day went to wildcard and home player Joshua Roberts beating another David Lloyd member Achille Biock 10-5 in the 9 and under.

In the Womens Final Megan Wilson triumped over Priyanka Misra 4-3(5-3) 4-2 with some grueling rallies and great action in the indoor bubble.

In the Mens Final top seed Stephen Shipley was beaten for the first time ever by huge hitting teenager Arun Bahia who recovered from a slow start to win 0-4 4-1 (10-0). In the tiebreak almost every single shot Arun hit came out as a huge blistering winner.
