This was our first Sunday evening indoor men’s open event at Heaton and it was oversubscribed so obviously its a popular venue and time. We will try to arrange more in the future.
The winner was Gavin Mason of Huddersfield Tennis Club in a 4-0 4-0 victory over Jacob Matthews of Penrith.
In the consolation final Ieuan Hughes beat David Williamson 4-2 4-1
There was another big entry (54), with unfortunately for some long reserve lists for those who couldn’t get in, all events except for the ladies being oversubscribed.
It was a battle of the Harry’s in the final of the 12 and under boys with Harry Lumb coming out on top 4-1 4-1 against Harry Senior
The consolation winner was Rafael Kiss who won 4-2 4-3(1) against Diego Van
In the 14 and under boys earlier in the day Harry Lumb was again the winner but this time against Sam Knowles 4-2 4-0
In the consolation event Ethan Barrett beat Thomas Stephens 4-1 4-2
In the 18 and under boys Joe Conaghan from David Lloyd Leeds came through a tough field to beating the top seed Robbie Webster 4-2 4-2 and then Edward Appleyard 4-1 1-4 (10-9) with a lucky sudden death mishit net cord winner. He never looked back and went on to win the final against Tommi Smith 2-4 4-2 (10-2)
Consolation winner Ruben Francis beat Fraser Smith 4-1 4-3(4)
In the mens event Bochyan Topam beat Henry Field 3-4(1) 4-0 (10-4) in the final.
The consolation final was won by Jonah Getin 4-1 4-0 against Edward Phillips
Chante Mali 4.2 and top seed from Jesmond Club Newcastle came through to win the women’s event beating home player Priyanka Misra 4-2 4-1
Nicole Gama beat Silvia Kablonova 4-2 4-0 in the consolation final
It was another busy day at David Lloyd Leeds with over 50 entries across 5 tournaments with entrants coming from far and wide.
The 9 and under mixed event champion was Ezra Mceon of Grimsby with a close 10-9 victory over Jay Wheeler Roberts of Bradford.
In the 12 and Under boys Harry Lumb came through 2-4 4-2 (10-3) against David Lloyd home player Emre Sen. The consolation winner was Taylor Hampshaw of David Lloyd Leeds beating Lewis Sterling of Roundhay Tennis Club 4-3(4) 4-2
In the 14 and under boys it was a battle of David Lloyd members from Harrogate with George Burgin coming through 4-0 4-0 against Max McGreggor in the final
The consolation final winner was Max Jones of Boston winning 4-2 4-0 against Gusharanman Pravinkumar from Telford
The 18 and under boys was won by William Cheer of Boston 4-3(1) 4-1 against Joe Conagham of David Lloyd Leeds

In the Mini Red tournament Jake Phelan of David Lloyd Leeds came through to win against Zuzanna Walon of Huddrsfield 10-2 in the final. The consolation winner was Neo Hodkinson beating India Jarvis 10-6.
In the Mini Green Rose O’Donovan was the champion after winning a close final 4-3(1) against Joe Dempsey.
In the 12u boys Emre San of David Lloyd Leeds came out on top against Billy Newsome 4-2 4-2.In the consolation event Diego Van of Whitkirk won against Gus Short 2-4 4-3(2) 10-5 in another close match.
16 and under boys winner James Duffin from Graves defeated Arthur Ferrar of Ipswich Sports Club 4-1 4-0. The consolation winner was Harry Wharam from David Lloyd Derby winning 4-1 4-0 against Benjamin Finch of York Tennis Club.
The 18U winner was Robert Smith winning 4-2 1-4 10-9 saving 4 match points to come through on sudden death. The consolation winner was Savinien Biock of David Lloyd Leeds beating Max Tong of Nuffield Hull 4-2 3-4 10-8 in another great match.
The men’s winner Eden Pakinson of Lancaster came through 4-1 4-0 against Jacob Matthews of Ullswater. Joshua Crossley won the consolation final 4-2 4-0 against another Leeds and North of England regular Patrick Di Maio 4-2 4-0

In the mini green tournament Louis Hammond from Bristol coming through the round robin to win 4-3(2) 4-2 in the final against Anaya Breen.
In the 14 and under Leo Van beat Thomas Stephens in the final 4-1 4-1. The consolation final went to Henry Doyle 10-8 in a dramatic final set winner over Ben Simpson.
In the 18 and under George Hand was in top form with his powerful left handed game and won the final 4-1 4-2 against Joe Conaghan. In the consolation Ennis Fearnon Taylor won against Eli Costello.
The Chapel Allerton Christmas Open 14 and under was won by Daniel Astanov against James Duffy in a gripping 3 set match finally being decided in the tie break 10 – 6. The consolation winner was Henry Dolan pictured below in his blue and black hoodie!
The 12 and under was scheduled to be played outdoors but after a lot of rearranging we managed to get indoor courts and Archie Stoner came through inn another tight match won on the sudden death match point.
