We were made very welcome again with three events which were all full. They were 12u girls 12U boys and open men’s events.
We started at 9am with the boys event which was won by Louis Hull from Thongsbridge 4-1 4-1 against Tennis World Middlesborough’s James Paluzzi.
The consolation event was between Finn Lynnsdale and Jack Preston with Fin coming through 4-1 4-1
The girls tournament was next Isabella Monks won a tight but fluctuation final 1-4 4-2 10-9 against Kate Spurr. The consolation event between Emilia Griffiths and Isobel Smith went to Emilia 4-2 4-2.
The mens event was played mostly inder the floodlights and the winner was Jack Willis of Rawdon 4-1 4-2 over William Ainge of Lancaster. The consolation winner was Liam Baldwin his second consolation final win in just over a week hopefully making his trip from Stevenage worthwhile.
We held an open mens event at Chapel Allerton on a Friday evening under the excellent new LED floodlights and despite some light rain the courts played really well and there were some great matches. Special permission was needed from the LTA to hold this event and players came from far and wide to play in it. The furthest being Liam Baldwin who came from Stevenage. Players also came from Buckinghamshire and Manchester. Thanks for your dedication!
There was a full compass draw and top seed Ross Smith from Manchester beat Rory Walsh 5-3 4-2 in an excellent final. Liam Baldwin won the consolation final 4-1 4-0 against Mark Annis-Brown.
It was great to see such a big turnout for all events and particularly the girl’s 10U which had the biggest entry of the day. All were 16 compass draws.
Thanks also to Chapel Allerton for stepping in to host the event after David Lloyd Leeds had double booked their courts.
There was some fantastic tennis all day and the courts played well despite some heavy overnight rain.
We started with the 10U girls at 9.30 and the final was finished by 1pm with Amy Mcmahon winning 4-2 4-0 against top seed Elizabeth Tate in a match with lots of high class rallies.
The consolation event was won by Beth Pratt against Karina Greta Kiss 4-2 4-0.
The boys 10U was also of a great standard and Toby Shaw came through the draw beating the first, third and fourth seeds along the way. Well done Toby. In the final against Joshua Roberts the score was 4-1 4-1
The boys 14U was another competitive event with lots of games being decided on tie break final sets. Eventual winner Joseph Darley had two of them on the way to the final with Jake Reed winning 3-4(1) 4-1 10-8 against Alexandros Chaitidis and 4-2 3-4(3) 10-9 against Edward Barroclough. The consolation event was won by Thomas Cassidy-De Falco.
This was our first Grade 4 3 day event at David Lloyd and it was a busy one with over 100 entrants. There were lots of great tennis and competitive matches and a number of non seeded winners came through to win their tournaments so well done to them.

Folasade Aladese came through the day unbeaten winning all her games in the group and the final 4-1 4-2 against Emilia Linley
The boys event was won by Toby Shaw winning the final 4-0 4-1 against David Lloyd Leeds player Charles Charnock. Between them the boys had knocked out the top two seeds on the way to the final.
Unseeded Lexie Haig won the 12U girls taking the final 4-3(4) 4-2 against second seed Aimee Knowles having beaten the top seed in the finals
There was a full 16 draw for the 12U boys the final was won by Louis Hull against top seed Joseph Evans 4-0 4-1 having dropped only 3 games on the way to the title. Oliver Clark won the consolation final 4-2 4-0 against top seed James Smith
The 14U boys was another full 16 entry with the top seed Owen Lodge winning the final 4-1 4-0 against Max Mcgregor. The consolation event was won by Joseph Bardon 4-3(3) 4-1 against Joe Rhys Cruz in a competitive final.
Another full 16 draw saw Joe Kelt victorious against Sergei Vukasinovic 4-1 4-0. The consolation event was between Cameron Ralph and Charlie Clarke. Cameron winning 4-2 4-3(4)
There was another big entry in the 18U boys with lots of matches being decided by third set tie breaks. Second seed Christopher Horgan made his trip down from the north of Scotland worthwhile by winning the trophy by way of a 4-1 4-1 win in the final against David Lloyds Leeds Joe Conaghan. Jack Hanson won a tight consolation final 4-2 4-3(3) against Aryan Jit Singh.
Unseeded Jessica Eastwood won the Open Women’s event in a fluctuating final 4-0 2-4 10-8 against third seed Natalie Flinn. Kirstin Mcleod beat local girl Priyanka Misra in the consolation final 4-0 4-2 having beaten the 2nd & 4th seeds along the way.
And finally the top seed Adam Hillerby won the Men’s open event to close off the tournament on Sunday evening 4-1 4-0 against Will Sharp. Jack Hanson won the consolation against Christopher Sharp in a real rollercoaster 4-2 0-4 10-8
