Chapel Allerton Grade 4 8 July 2018

We were back at Chapel Allerton on a hot Sunday with temperatures reaching 28 degrees with some of the tennis just as hot.

There were three Grade 4 events on the day starting with the boys 14U. There was a full 16 entry with a Fast4 knockout and consolation draw. Top seed Will Jepson was on fire only dropping 3 games in the whole tournament winning the final against third seed James Duffy 4-0 4-0. The consolation event was won by William Stringer beating Emre Sen 4-3(3) 4-3(2) in a close final.

It was great to see a good entry for the Girls 14U with 13 in the draw. Top seed Hannah Glover came through 3 tie break sets to reach the final finally winning that 4-1 4-2 against unseeded Molly Robinson. The consolation final was between Vinettha Kandikonda and Ella Boddington. Vineetha winning 4-3(3) 4-3(1) in another close match.

The boys 16U was a full compass draw for the 8 entrants. Second seed Scott Hillerby followed up his doubles win of the week before with a 4-3(4) 1-4 10-6 win over top seed Bailey Cole in another great match.
