David Lloyd Leeds 15 December 2018

There were four grade 4 events on the day with some fantastic tennis on show.

We started with the 12U girls in the bubble with unseeded Ruby Couling only dropping two games on the way to winning the tournament. She won the final 4-1 4-0 against top seed Katherine Bentzen. The consolation event was taken by second seed Marla Davies 4-2 4-0 against Madelaine Malpass.

A 16 draw 12U boys event followed with lots of great tennis and close matches. The final was typical with Louis Hull eventually winning 3-4(3) 4-2 10-9 in an epic game against second seed Sebastian Concannon. The consolation final was nearly as tight with Jake Lane taking the match 2-4 4-1 10-8 against Alex Freestone.

The girls 16U event was taken by second seed Daniela Piani 4-2 4-0 against Katherine-Lee Lukas after some tough matches for both girls on the way to the final. The consolation final was between Sophie Cassidy De-Falco and Isabella Moss with Sophie winning 4-2 4-1.

We rounded off the day with another 16 draw with the 16U boys. There were lots of tight matches going to deciding tie break sets. The standard of the tennis was fantastic and a pleasure to watch. The final was between Owen Lodge and Edward Appleyard with Owen taking the trophy in a 4-3(1) 4-1 win. The consolation event also had some great tight games on the way to the final which was won 3-4(4) 4-0 10-7 by third seed Charlie Clark against Max Marshall.
